Virginia! So Proud!

Virginia! So Proud!

I am so proud to share that Virginia has received European recognition!
The lady is finally in the picture — her name, story, and strength are now part of European history.

You can read more about her in the Digital Women’s Lexicon

where she is honored for her life and legacy.

Her story is also featured in the children’s book recently published in the Netherlands: “Kind aan de ketting” (Child in Chains). In this book, Virginia’s picture and story continue to inspire new generations, reminding us of resilience, dignity, and the importance of telling the untold.

As an artist, I feel humbled to have been able to contribute to keeping her memory alive — through art, illustration, and storytelling. This recognition is not only for Virginia, but for all women of the African diaspora whose voices deserve to be heard.

Virginia lives on in art, history, and the hearts of those who see her.
